Café Roma – A Hidden Gem in Noto

Nestled in the heart of Noto on Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Café Roma is more than just a casual stop for coffee; it's an experience that beautifully encapsulates the charm of Sicilian life. With a vibrant atmosphere perfect for people-watching, this café invites you to unwind and savor its delightful offerings.

One of the stars of Café Roma is undoubtedly their granita, which customers rave about. Imagine enjoying a refreshing serving of mulberry or pomegranate granita, crafted daily from fresh, local ingredients and free of additives. As Christoph Lutz aptly points out, "the granita here is fresh and tasty," making it an ideal choice for a quick, revitalizing snack amidst your explorations of Noto.

For those who appreciate a light bite, the café serves up delicious croissants filled with creamy ricotta, paired with a rich cappuccino that Agata describes as “very good.” The fragrant brioche, known locally as Tuppo, will awaken your senses and add a touch of sweetness to your morning routine.

Café Roma boasts a compact interior that's cozy yet bustling, offering a quaint charm. However, don’t miss out on their outdoor seating, which not only affords a glimpse of the lively street but also provides the perfect backdrop for enjoying a drink during your aperitivo hour. H Byrne found the service “speedy and friendly” even during busy periods, ensuring a smooth experience while relaxing over a glass of white wine or an Aperol Spritz.

While a few reviews mention that the service can be brisk, many guests, including "am," felt that they were treated well and appreciated the no-charge appetizers like olives and peanuts that accompany drinks. With reasonable prices and the possibility of card payments, Café Roma caters to those looking for both quality refreshments and a pleasant atmosphere.

If you're seeking a distinctive café experience while in Noto, stop by Café Roma. With its inviting offerings and central location, it’s a stop you won't regret. Whether you're indulging in a granita or sipping on a well-crafted beverage, Café Roma promises a taste of Sicily that is both fresh and unforgettable.

We really enjoyed the granita here. We tried the pomegranate one and the mulberry one, and both were fresh and tasty. Thus, it’s a good spot for quick bite, ice cream or coffee. The service was not particularly friendly and they wanted us to pay in cash but given the central location and deliciousness of the granita, we were still satisfied.

Good service - we went for a few drinks pre dinner - service was good. We were given olives, crisps and peanuts at no extra cost - the drinks were nice. We were not overcharged as the other reviews state and the customer service was very good.

Speedy & friendly service (in English too if needed) despite it being very busy at aperitivo time! 2 white wines and 2 aperol spritz for €30. Possible to pay with card. Grazie Michaelangelo

Inside is very tiny without tables but you can seat outside and it’s very interesting for people watching while eating one of the best granita I had in Sicily!! The owner make them fresh every morning using only local ingredients and without additives. Coffee is great, brioche (Tuppo) is delicious and fragrant. You definitely have to have a stop there while in Noto
